Winkeland: Glamorous Ghost Stories

When I first saw this ad via A Lovely Being, I could literally feel my blood curdling...in a good way of course. It's Barney's Fall 2010 cat-a-logue. It's only the first week of October, but this ad has already got me feeling the customary spook of Halloween. I love everything about these images, especially the subtlety creepy set design. The use of the white fluffy cat instead of the traditional black, wiry cat is genius. I feel like these images tell the story of a wild, radical woman who is forced into a world of haunting domesticity. The white cats act as purveyors of the wholesome lifestyle she is imprisoned by. To me, the photos also harbor that carnival fun house feel which absolutely love.
