Those Royals and their hats

Behold Princess Beatrice of York! Not only is she 5th in line for the English throne but she has impeccable taste in hats. In lieu of these amazing photos, I'm officially putting "purchasing a Philip Treacy hat and going to Ascot " on my Euro bucket list.

A Purple Affair

This is one of my favorite looks from, Princess-to-be, Kate Middleton. The periwinkle coat and airy hat are simply divine! The whole look makes me want to move to England, take millinery classes, and move into a charming English cottage and read Jane Austen novels.
I seriously can't stop thinking about the Royal wedding. What's Kate's dress going to look like? How is she going to wear her hair? Which Royal is wearing what hat? I don't even care if live coverage starts at 4 a.m.!

My Morning Eggs

This past weekend, Morgan went home to visit his family in the Central Coast and surprised me with these cute colorblock eggs. I plan on eating them sometime today while humming this adorable song.

Fresh Cuts-Monday Edition

How was everyone's Easter weekend? I spent the weekend down in Palm Springs eating large quantities of Mexican food and boutique hotel hopping (photos to come).
In an attempt to make this Monday morning more cheery and lighthearted, I thought I would share my latest home revamp. I finally got around to hanging my pink wall sconces that I got a couple months ago at an antique store in Cambria. We decided to hang them in the kitchen by our windows where we get a lot of sunlight in the mornings. I filled them with a little water and fresh flowers and voila! It makes me want to put on a cutesy apron and spend all my free time cooking up sweet treats.

new york
Happy weekend everyone! In exactly one week, Morgan and I will be en route to New York City. Honestly, I think I'm most excited about the food. A couple eateries on my to-do list include Momofuku, Grimaldi's, Balthazar, La Esquina, and Magnolia Bakery. Anyone else have any must-eats to check out?

I spy - Los Angeles

I'm starting a new blog segement called I spy. It's going to be a cluster of themed photos from everyday life in Los Angeles and anywhere inspiration calls. As you can tell from the photos, this one is cat themed. Enjoy!

Happy Easter

Whether you'll be in Mass or egg hunting with the small ones, make sure you're dressed and accessed (accessorized) to the nines this Easter. Here are a few pastel picks that would be perfect for this weekend!

A pom pom idea!

On my weekends spent at home, all I want to do is decorate. This can range anywhere from me wanting a new tufted arm chair to a little Ikat throw pillow. However, this usually ends in frustration because everything I want is simply out of my budget. If you're anything like me and experience the same woes, not to fret. I thought of a simple DIY curtain opportunity where all you would need are curtains (preferably off white or cream) and a couple yards of cute pom pom trim! I saw these cute Toorie Curtains from Anthropologie the other day and thought about what a fun weekend project it would be. Any crafties want to come over this weekend? It's B.Y.O.S.M! (bring your own sewing machine)

Botanica Tuesday!

There's something about terrariums that I can't seem to get enough of. I got this little beauty at the flea market for only 10 bucks! It's from Branch of Life, an eco-friendly floral company based out of Los Angeles. Since I've seen these little baubles selling for twice as much in Los Feliz, I was eager to snag one before they sold out. I placed mine on our living room windowsill but if you're feeling a little more adventurous, you could string it up. I love the red and peach moss surrounding the air plant. I think that it gives the terrarium such brilliant pops of color!

I love it when confetti falls up!

Teaser - The Cherry Blossom Girl pour Etam from Alix on Vimeo.

Totes in love with this little snippet that Alix from Cherry Blossom Girl just posted. It's a sneak peak into her collaboration with Etam, a Victoria's Secret-esque boutique that seems to be everywhere except in the U.S. Her video is feminine, delicate and every aspect comes together to create an etherial emotion that I'm L.O.V Loving!

My Flea Market Fortnighter

After three years of living in Los Angeles, I finally made the drive to Pasadena for the Rose Bowl Flea Market (And I call myself an avid thrifter!) Here's a list of things you might want to consider if you go:

The Early Bird Catches the LV bag: The earlier you get there, the better stuff you'll find and the less people you'll have to push and shove through.

Cash is King: Trust me, this will just make your experience much easier. You'll need cash to get into the flea market and some vendors don't take plastic. The last thing you'll want to do when that hipster girl is eyeing your vintage dress is make an emergency run to the ATM because the vendor won't hold it for you.

Zinc: In the words of Baz Luhrmann..."wear sunscreen". We're rounding into summer so consider either bringing the SPF, wearing a fashionable, yet protective hat, or showcasing that parasol you got a Coachella two years back.

Barganing 101: If the vendor gives you a price for an item and you thought it was going to be more...i say just pay for it. However, if you get there and the amount seems a little steep, feel free to ask if they'll take a lower amount. We were able to knock down our Louis Vuitton travel bag an extra 15 dollars. That's enough to buy one meal in Los Angeles!

oh yeah, and bring comfortable shoes.

Kate Spade in the Morning

Found this video this morning and it makes March's June gloom more bearable. Cupcakes, cute puppies, flowers, vintage bikes...what's not to like? This video is totally inspiring me to wear a cute dress and bike across the Brooklyn Bridge next month in New York!
