How was everyone's Memorial day? Mine was filled with good friends, good food, and white waters. Seeing as how this past weekend officially marked the start of Summer, why not do a follow up to my previous glamping post? This Summer, forget roughing it! Here are some of my favorite picks for a more chic and modern camping trip!

Hip Hip Hooray! It's a three day weekend! This Memorial Day, Morgan and I plan on going white water rafting on the Kern River in Bakersfield. To ease a little nervousness, I'm trying to get in an outdoorsy mood by doing a little photo research on Glamping (Glamour +Camping).

Okay no... It's not teenie, weenie, nor is it yellow. All the same, I am very much obsessed with this polka dotted sheer top. Make that any sheer button down for that matter. Whether paired with long skirts or tucked halfway into some jeans, I'm loving this Summer trend. I'm determined to pair it with this rose-hued pleated skirt!

I'm spreading the love this Thursday with this heart-filled I Spy. The first photo is two love padlocks attached to the Brooklyn Bridge. As seen in this lovely save the date video, newlyweds get a lock engraved with their names and the date of the wedding and then secure it to the bridge – as a gesture of commitment, the keys are then tossed into the water below. The second photo is an cute little add I spotted in Time Square. The third is my beloved heart headphone splitter. It comes in handy when watching episodes of Glee on long flights.

Here are a few more snapshots from our New York trip a couple weeks ago! The first is me in Hoboken, NJ in my vintage Kate Spade-esque sun dress. The second photo was taken under a cherry blossom tree in West Central Park. The third is Morgan and I pretending to be parting ways in Grand Central Station. And the last is of Radio City Music Hall!

While looking for nail inspiration for an upcoming Vegas trip, I came across Topshops' in-house nail salon, Wah Nails. I was instantly smitten with this London-based nail salon whose mantra is "whatever you can dream up, can be created on your fingertips". After I did a little more research, I found out that they are only based in England...Womp. But it doesn't matter, their nails can still serve as pure inspiration to us Statesiders! How cute would the tuxedo one be in a light brown?

Even though I could never sport a knockoff purse, I'm all about rocking the knockoff weekender bag. So while I was in New York, I couldn't resist dropping by Canal Street to check out the plethora of taboo wares. I'm so use to my Filipino relatives talking about Green Hills in Manila where the fakes practically fall at your feet. That was why I was a little disappointed when none of the store fronts showed any sign of imitation bags. If you are looking for a fake and don't mind feeling like a shady lady, the trick is to follow the people standing in front of the stores who, under their breath, are calling out the designer brands. They'll take you to a street corner and show you a brochure of the items and they'll bring it in black trash bags and you decided if you want them or not. Make sure you ask for half the price they offer...they will go down! I actually found this really cute FiFi Lapin duffel that I couldn't pass up!

Here's a little snipet from our New York trip to brighten your Friday the 13th! If you ever find yourself in Central Park, do yourself a favor and rent a row boat from the Boathouse. It's only 12 dollars per boat and the expeirence and views from the lake are unmatched!

While in New York, Morgan and I rented out a charming little one bedroom apartment in Soho. We had fun just strolling around our neighborhood admiring all the cutesy cafes and boutiques. I scored this amazing swimsuit for a mere 45 dollars at Stella Dallas, a store that specializes in styles from the 40-60s. Now if I could only pull off this retro swim cap and learn how to synchronize swim. What is everyone else wearing this Summer?

I've pretty much spent the last week eating my way through New York city and some parts of Jersey. How could I say no to the blueberry lavender macaroons at La Maison du Macaroon? Or the rhubarb and basil popsicles from People's Pop? Or even a Creme Brulee doughnut at Doughnut Plant? Here are just a few of the highlights from my week-long dessert binge.
